JACQUELINE DAWN CHUBEY (BJORNSON) After a courageous battle with cancer, Jackie passed away at the Health Sciences Centre on Thursday, September 17, 2015. Jackie will be forever and deeply missed by her husband Dale; daughters, Shannon and Ashley; and "fur-babies", Mia and Bella. She also leaves to mourn her siblings, Bradley Bjornson (Darlene), Terry Bjornson (Janet), Kim Bjornson (Brenda), Paulette Smook (Wayne), Brent Bjornson (Mary-Ann), Karla Flaten (Gary); brother-in-law Lyle Anderson; sisters-in-law, Therese Chubaty (Bob) and Sherry Lazaruk (Leonard), numerous nieces and nephews, Aunt Loraine Cote, Thompson and Cote cousins, and many friends. Jackie was predeceased by her parents, William and Norma Bjornson; parents-in-law, William and Ann Chubey; and sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Mike Thorvaldson; brother Delmore Bjornson; and sister Debra Anderson. Jackie was born on September 13, 1957 in Roseau, Minnesota. She was the seventh born of 10 children and grew up in Piney, Manitoba. After graduating from Shevchenko School in Vita, Jackie married her high school sweetheart Dale, with whom she recently celebrated 39 years of marriage. They made their home and raised their family in Lorette, Manitoba. Jackie was employed at MTS for over 25 years until her retirement this past July. Jackie took great pride in her career, advancing in various roles until her retirement. Jackie developed many special friendships throughout her career at MTS, including her best friend Vickie. Jackie's thoughtfulness and generosity always seemed to find its way to family and friends in need. Jackie loved spoiling her nieces, nephews and other children in her life. Jackie set an example of kindness that touched everyone she knew. Jackie loved to entertain and was the ultimate hostess, you never left her home thirsty, hungry, emptyhanded or without a smile on your face. Jackie lived her whole life for her family. Dale was more than her husband, he was her soulmate, best friend, and partner in all aspects of life. They were so excited to share their retirement years together. Jackie's daughters were her pride and joy and she passed on her values and showed them the importance of family. Our family would like to extend sincere thanks to the team of professionals at CancerCare at HSC and in Steinbach, and to the staff in GH6 at HSC for their special care over the last two weeks. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church located at 1311 Dakota Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jackie's memory to CancerCare Manitoba. GREEN ACRES Funeral Home and Cemetery (204) 222-3241 Condolences may be sent to www.greenacresfuneralhome.com

I am deeply saddened by the loss of Jackie, whom I considered not only my colleague, but my friend. Jackie was a delight to work with and a valued friend. There was nothing Jackie would not do to help others at work and she did all with excellence. We kept in touch after my retirement from MTS and I had the opportunity and joy to meet Dale, whom she talked about always. She cherished her daughters and spoke of them often. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. RIP my dear friend! Loved but never forgotten! Ruth - Posted by: Ruth Harris (co-worker and friend) on: Sep 22, 2015

I had the great privilege of calling Jackie friend. We worked together for many years and had a lot of laughs. Well, she laughed at all my stupid stories. She was always willing to lend an ear. One of the nicest people I've ever known. I know Jackie will be missed immensely. My deepest condolences to her family. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. - Posted by: Cindy Wright (Friend) on: Sep 22, 2015
