NANCY MAE CROCKER May 9, 1934 - September 17, 2015 Nancy Mae Crocker (nee Caswell) passed away peacefully on September 17, 2015 in Treherne after a short battle with cancer. She was a loving wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma and friend whose journey spanned as a dedicated registered nurse and a lifetime of community service and friendship. Born to Ella and Adrian Caswell on May 9, 1934 on the family farm in Rathwell and little sister to Margaret, Nancy moved to Winnipeg after high school and obtained her Registered Nurse diploma (1955) and worked at the General Hospital in Winnipeg. In 1958, she married William B. Crocker and welcomed their first son William A. in 1960 and David in 1962. They moved to Victoria, BC where their daughter Linda was born in 1964. Nancy had strong ties to the family farm and so Bill and Nancy returned to the Rathwell community. With her growing family, Nancy took a leave from her nursing career until 1970, returning to nursing at the Treherne Hospital for many years. Nancy enjoyed traveling with Bill to visit her sister Margaret and friends in Arizona as well as overseas to visit Bill's nieces, nephews and extended family in England. A family trip in 2003 to Disneyland was memorable and of late, a trip to Hawaii in 2012. She also enjoyed nature through bird watching and flowers. She collected antiques and added to Bill's extensive coin collection. Nancy enjoyed a wide variety of the arts and sporting activities with family and friends. Nancy continued to devote her life to volunteering and many community services. She enjoyed golfing and visiting her friends and recently volunteered at the Canadian Citizenship ceremonies. Nancy is survived by her husband Bill, of 56 years; son Bill Jr. (Lynne) with Kaitlyn and Nicholas; son David (Kristine) with Katryna (Konstantin), Joey (Kim) and Sheri-lynn; and daughter Linda (Len) with Brett (Nadine), Bryn and Kristen, as well as great-grandchildren, Kalem, Tia, Tyson, Khloe and Jaime-lynn. She is also survived by brother-in-law Jim Sinclair, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Please join us in celebrating Nancy's life at the Rathwell Community Hall on September 26, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in Rathwell, MB.
