My deepest condolences to Darby and to all of the family. I will remember Gordon for his love of music, his wisdom and sense of humour, and for being a wonderful neighbour. It was an honour to have known him. May God bless and comfort all who knew him. - Posted by: Betsy Bergen (Neighbour) on: Sep 27, 2015

Even when I was very young, Gordon provided me with opportunities to develop my singing voice and to experience leadership and belonging through church music. The fruits of this will last me a lifetime and I am grateful. He was always a model of compassion and inclusion and really lived his faith. He and Darby clearly had a wonderful, happy marriage that was an inspiration. He will be missed. Rest in peace and God Bless. - Posted by: Heulwen Jones (Friend) on: Sep 26, 2015

I have known Gordon and Darby for fifty years. I doubt if either of them knew what an extraordinary and positive influence they have had on my life. Gordon hired me as lowly survey technician in 1965 when I was twenty years old and a recent immigrant to Canada. Despite being a senior engineer in the company, he treated me as a friend and a social equal from the beginning. This was inexplicable to me at the time, but as the years went by I realised that this was simply his way of dealing with people. Gordon was an extraordinary individual, with a generous nature and a straightforward way of dealing with everyone he met. Without a doubt he was the single most positive influence in my life and I will miss him for the rest of my life. My heartfelt, loving wishes go to Darby, Jim, Joanie, Kathy and Graham. - Posted by: Terry (Dann) on: Sep 26, 2015

Gordon was my uncle and godfather. He was kind, thoughtful and always interesting to listen to when he shared his life experiences. Great loss, thinking of you Darby and family. - Posted by: Dick Bayly (Nephew and godson) on: Sep 25, 2015

Gordon was associated with the very first refugees to come from El Salvador in the early eighties. He was a very kind and generous man to some young guys in need. I am sad to hear of his passing. - Posted by: Colin Steele (Friend) on: Sep 22, 2015

Gordon was only the second boss I've had and I'm still working for his company, UNIES Ltd. He was kind, generous and always smiling. There were many great memories but one that stands out for me was the weekend at his cottage on Rush Bay with him and Darby and the whole UNIES' crew. What a wonderful place! My condolences to Darby and the family. - Posted by: Patricia Flight (Employee) on: Sep 22, 2015

Worked with Gordon at UMA engineering on a couple of projects he was heading up. He was a very astute person with a great sense of humor. - Posted by: Brian Carey (Friend/Fellow employee) on: Sep 22, 2015
