CLAIRE JEANETTE BOHEMIER With heavy hearts we announce the death of our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. We rejoice that she is now reunited with her husband, Florent, who predeceased her in 1994, and her daughter, Joanne in 2005. Also predeceased by her parents Cleophas Marcoux and Clara Tetreault, three sisters Antoinette (in infancy), Cecile at five years old, Marguerite Lacerte in 1993 and Pat Bohemier (Sexsmith). For over 50 years she was an active member of St. Emile Parish and received her 50 year pin with the Catholic Women's League of Canada. She was proud to serve as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, Pregnancy Distress Service, Manitoba Mental Health Association, and the St. Vital Knights of Columbus Residency Association. She received the volunteer of the year award for her work in the Glenlee Community Club and was recognized for her community service acting as president of Glenlee Senior Bingo. Mom loved family gatherings, knitting and various crafts, card games, going to the casino, visiting family in California where she enjoyed being treated like a queen. She will lovingly be remembered as being outgoing, feisty and willing to make sacrifices for the benefit of the community. Survived by her children Ron, Claude (Cathy), Gerald (Bob Webster), grandchildren Cathy (Darrell Rose), Joy (Neil Denyer), Michelle, Reta Mitton, Dan (Tara), and great-grandchildren Matthew, Sharlee, Lauren, Cara, Anne, Riley, Andrew and Grant, also numerous nieces, nephews and friends whom she cherished. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Emile Parish, 556 St. Anne's Road on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. The family thanks the 3rd floor south staff at Actionmarguerite (St. Boniface). In lieu of flowers, donations would be greatly appreciated to Pregnancy Distress Service, Actionmarguerite Nursing Home or the Alzheimer Society. Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • My condolences to the family. I hadn't heard until now of aunt Claire's passing. Auntie Faye just mentioned it in a conversation earlier. I recall visits to aunt and uncle's house, and playing with Joanne and Gerald when I was young. I remember auntie's laughter, and of course, her dedication to bingo.
