JACQUELINE DIANE HODGSON With heavy hearts the family announces the sudden passing of Jacquelyn Diane Hodgson (nee Ridley), aged 73 of Roland. Her father, Ivan Ridley and mother, Gladys and brother, Weldon, predeceased Jackie. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 53 years, Bob Hodgson and their three children, Kimberly Hodgson Kenyon (Brian), Tannis Piper (Robert), and Scott Hodgson (Tammy). Her grandchildren, William, Taylor, Hannah, Chad, Megan, Madison, Christian, Bobby, and Geoffrey will miss her laughter, playful nature, and carefully worded advice. Her dedication to her grandchildren was unmatched. Also mourning her loss is her sister Cathy Poole (Allan), sisters-in-law, Jane Ridley, Dorothy Tjaden and Bea Nicholson, many beloved nieces and nephews, and cousins. Jackie was born in Beausejour and lived in Winnipeg and Morden. She married her soulmate July 14, 1962 and moved to Myrtle where they farmed and raised their family. She attended Teacher's College and taught in a one-room school before becoming a stay-at-home mom and farming partner. She later worked at the Boyne Lodge and the Alzheimer Society as well as tireless hours volunteering in her community. In retirement she and Bob moved to Roland. Jackie was a very talented and creative artist. She loved people with her whole heart. Her love and dedication for her husband was inspirational and created an unbreakable bond. Her children and grandchildren benefitted from having a mother and Nana all children and grandchildren dream of. She listened, accepted and enjoyed their company. She valued her friends and considered them family. She welcomed everyone into her home without judgment and with grace. Her hospitality was never ending. Jackie will be remembered for how she made people feel welcome. The funeral service will be held at the Roland United Church, Monday, September 28, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with a reception to follow at the Roland Memorial Hall. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. http://www.heartandstroke.mb.ca/ Doyle's Funeral Home in care of arrangements. www.doylesfuneralchapel.com

  • Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Hodgson family at this very difficult time. Jackie was not only a Very Special friend to my parents, but also to Deb and I. I so vividly remember her "Toast to the Groom" (me) at our wedding. So eloquent, scary...and funny, all wrapped into one. (I have to admit, I was nervous) We will miss seeing her "infectious smile" and her cheery, joyful greeting every time we met. Jackie made a Huge impact on every one who knew her. She will be gravely missed, and always cherished in the memories we all have of her. God Speed Jackie - Posted by: Paul & Deb Pfrimmer (Friend) on: Sep 27, 2015
