COLMAN HOW MAN WONG June 30, 1937 - September 19, 2015 At the age of 78 years, Colman passed away peacefully at Poseidon Care Centre. He will be missed by his wife, Jean, their children Dennis (Grace), Terry (Nancy) and Lisa (Raymond), and grandchildren David, Sandra, Danica, Tyson, Keaton, Liam, Madeline and Keira. He was predeceased by his father Thomas, mother Elsa and brother Dick, and survived by sisters Elise (Chun Tund, deceased), Winnie (Colin, deceased) and Pauline (Sai Yee), and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews in Hong Kong and Australia. Dad met Mom in Hong Kong, married, and moved to Canada to begin their lives. Dad worked at Manitoba Hydro for over 25 years, first traveling up north then later a desk job in the city as a photogrammetrist. Dad loved his work and never called in sick, which allowed him to retire with almost a year and a half of sick days and holidays to work on his other love, golf. After retirement, Dad and Mom spent their time looking after their grandchildren, willing to travel whenever called to step in to babysit whether it was here in Winnipeg, Calgary, Ottawa, Chicago, Toronto, Richmond or San Francisco. After retirement, Dad also reflected on his life and became a Christian attending the Chinese United Church of Winnipeg. We would like to thank everyone from the Chinese United Church of Winnipeg and the Winnipeg Chinese Alliance Church for all the support they have given Mom and Dad through this process. Special thanks to the care workers at Riverview Health Centre and Poseidon Care Centre who looked after Dad in his final days. A celebration of his life will be held October 1, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Ave. (across from Brookside Cemetery). Viewing will commence at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Chinese United Church of Winnipeg. NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 neilbardalinc.com

Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • As we are living in different Provinces, I am not able to meet Colman for long time in Canada, I thank God that I had chance to meet him in 2014 and felt his love and kindness towards his relatives. The most important thing is that he shared his thankfulness to become a Christian that changes his life. God bless. We pray that we will meet again in heaven. - Posted by: Simon Wong (Cousin) on: Sep 30, 2015
