My deepest condolences to Bernadette's family. I worked along side Bernie at The Northwest Company many years ago, and she quickly became a friend. She was a super person, and oh so kind hearted. Over the years since I left the company, whenever I saw her she always greeted me with a smile. She was a strong, couragous fighter and an inspiration to many. - Posted by: () on: Oct 02, 2015

I worked with Bernie, when we worked in CPD of The North West Company. We went to many Company functions together, had many laughs. She was one of the most strongest woman I have had in my life and will be truly missed. RIP Bernie! - Posted by: Claudette Astakeesic (ex-co-worker, friend) on: Oct 02, 2015

Our heartfelt condolences to Bernadette's family. I'm sadden with our loss of someone very special. I heard someone say this past week "A close friend is a sibling god forgot to give". Rest in peace my dear and close friend. Monique - Posted by: Monique & Andy Bateman (Cousin) on: Oct 01, 2015

Bernadette, although you spoke very few words I am very appreciative of the conversations and chuckles that we did share over the years. Be it in the hallways of Gibraltar House, at WIM, during lunch hour or at the interview we had when you applied for a position on the Arctic Region Team. I have found that every person displays their personality, character and passion in different ways; your way was quiet, humble and unassuming. When we first met around 1993 my observations were that you seemed to be intimidated by those people with positions of authority within the company. I believe you thought I was in this category which seemed comical to me at the time; as I had just transferred into the office from the stores and was feeling the same way. I knew how you felt and although it took time, some conversations and some crude jokes, you did open up and it was great to see your confidence grow over the many dedicated years that you gave to The North West Company. I know this message will find its way to you and I look forward to telling a few more jokes when we meet again. Cheers Tim - Posted by: Tim Ross (Co-Worker) on: Oct 01, 2015

My heart goes out to Bernadette's daughters, siblings and spouse. I know that Elaine shared so many happy memories of Bernadette with me, and it is clear she loved and was loved. Then, Now, and Forever. - Posted by: Dee Jenkins (Friend of Family Member) on: Sep 28, 2015

I worked with Bernadette at The North West Company for many years. Her matter of fact approach to life and sense of humour was admired. I enjoyed our many in depth discussions. My sympathy to her family and friends during this time of such great loss. Bernadette will be sadly missed. - Posted by: Gail Chevalier (Co-worker) on: Sep 26, 2015
