JOSEPHUS (JOE, SJEF) STORIMANS Our loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away peacefully on September 25, 2015. He was predeceased by his wife Henrica in 2012. Left to cherish Dad's memory are Adrian (Patricia), Joseph, Jeffrey (Mandy), Jason (Dianna), and Valerie (Trent); Ann (Delwin); Robert, Scott and Corey (Radka); Elizabeth (Mike), Jeremy, Stephen (Kayley), and Breanne (Nic); Margaret (Garry), Aleesha (Calvin), and Chelsey; Mary (Rob), Michelle (Drew); Cathy, Sean; great-grandchildren Christopher, Alyssa, Geoffrey, Trevor, Kaitlyn, Ryan, Heidi and Holly, siblings Elisabeth, Theo, Annie and Johan; and many nieces and nephews. Joe was born on December 2, 1924 in Tilburg, The Netherlands. In June 1942, Joe met Henrica from den Bosch. Their love endured the war years and in 1949 they married. They immigrated to Winnipeg in 1960 with five children and one on the way. Joe worked in Retail Fashion Display from age 14 until his retirement. He was a self-taught carpenter having built two family homes, both constructed with repurposed materials. We will remember him for his devotion to family, his faith, strength of character, and love of classical music, books and Canadian nature. Many thanks to all of you at the Concordia Hospital Emergency ward for the care you gave to our dad and us. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The War Amps, or a charity of your choice. Viewing will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at 1:30 p.m., with service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home and Cemetery, Hwy. #1 East at Navin Road, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
