Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • I had not seen Don in many years (15) I was friends with his older brother Phillip. I knew the family as I lived down the street on Mountain Ave. till 1972. I was in CancerCare waiting to get my Chemo in the summer of 2015 and Marian And Ray came in and said hi. I was happy to see them they were coming to see Donny who was getting his treatment. I saw Donny a few more times after that getting treatment. Didn't know he had passed until 2017 when I ran into Phillip. I was checking to see if Stella was still alive when I found this obit. • Donny and I were friends many years ago. We were roommates in a big old duplex on Academy Road and worked together at the Spag in the 70s. We lost touch when I left Winnipeg. I was sad to hear of his passing. - Posted by: Andrew Burton (friend) on: Jan 19, 2017

  • I used to live down the street from Don on College Avenue. We both went to the same junior high school. I remember him to be a quiet person, but very friendly and he had a good sense of humour. I remember walking by his yard on the corner and always admiring his parent's garden in the back yard. If my memory serves me correctly, Don and I used to ride our bicycles in the neighborhood. My brother said that he occasionally saw Don in future years, but just in passing to say hello. I was saddened to read of Don's passing, but will always have nice memories of him. - Posted by: Carol Kowalenko (formerly Sadowy) ( old friend) on: Oct 01, 2015
