Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEARLE STOWE August 5, 1921 - September 25, 2015 As the harvest was coming to an end Dad was called home by his Heavenly father. Dad lived a long life and will be missed by daughter Shirley (Kris Thordarson), granddaughter Shannon (Kelly Lee), three great-granddaughters Chanda, Riley and Autumn, son Sheldon (Marilyn) Gilchrist, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Hilda (1998), sister Avis, brothers Charlie, John and Cecil (Pete). Born, raised and farmed in the Ridgeville area until the family moved to Winnipeg in 1969. He worked for Wyatt Rentals until retirement. Dad and Bill Illchuk were inseparable friends - a common sight around Lions Place. Gramps had a charming smile and a unique laugh. He was very proud of his independence as he still drove his car, cooked lots of his own meals and never used a cane, but he would always say "these are not the golden years". Dad could fix anything and was always willing to lend a hand. Another Earlism we will always remember was - "It is not how much money you make but how you spend it". Earl was a wonderful friend to my grandfather Bill over the past 15 years and I was heartbroken to hear of his passing. The two of them were like peas in a pod and really helped each other pass the time over the past couple years. He will be missed at Lion's Place.
