ROSE RAUCH Peacefully, at the Grace Hospice on Tuesday, September 29, 2015, Rose Rauch (nee Ritlbauer) lost her fight with cancer, at the age of 75 and has left our world for a better one in the hands of God. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Joe in 2010. May they now be reunited forever in the kingdom of God. Rose was also predeceased by her sister-in-law Frieda Mohr (Gerry) and brother-in-law Bob Rauch. She leaves behind to mourn her passing her children, son Paul Rauch, daughter Carolin Luginbuehl (Urs); granddaughter Nicole Luginbuehl (partner Alex Carnahan); sisters-in-law, Hilda Henning (Rolf) and Maria Rauch; brother-in-law Frank Rauch; brother Tony (Katie); cousin Etty Schaffer; many nieces and nephews and all of her many good friends. She was born December 11, 1939 in Apatin, Yugoslovia and immigrated to Canada in 1949. She met her husband Joe here and they married in January 1962. Together they had two children, Paul and Carolin, to which she devoted her time and energy. She loved being Grams to Nicole and spoiled her endlessly. She had a number of jobs: Babysitting for the summer at Bereton Lake at the age of 16. She was a health care aide and then she settled in at Safeway, where she worked for the next 40 years. Following her retirement, she would take her dog Misty for walks. In doing so, she met everyone in the neighbourhood. She was always willing to help everyone, she never said no. Rose drove her friends around to appointments; picked up groceries, whatever anyone needed. She enjoyed chatting with family and friends over a good meal. She socialized with everyone everywhere and met new friends in every stage of her life. She will be sadly missed. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare MB, Room 1160, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Rose shared a room with my mom at the Women's Hospital in June 2015. She was a wonderful roommate for my mom Beverly as they both moved forward with their illnesses. Rose kept a watchful eye over my mom, and would often give me detailed updates upon arrival. When the two of them got their own rooms, they still touched base for daily visits. My mom passed away before Rose, but their visits together in end-of-life times made my mom's passage to the next world lighter and with more joy. Thank you, Rose. May you rest in peace. - Posted by: Jean Dalman (Friend) on: Aug 03, 2016

  • Have known Rose since I can ever remember. Lived just down the street from them on Hoskin Avenue until we moved to calgary. Grew up with Rose looking out for and after us when we were kids. Rose was a thoughtful, caring, friendly individual. Who took the time to do things for friends and family. She treated everyone she met with respect and with open arms. She will be sorely missed by our family. We have lost a very very long time best friend. My deepest sympathy and condolences to Paul,Carolin,Urs,Nicole. - Posted by: shelley law (long time family friend) on: Oct 03, 2015
