SADIE EVELYN DUECK (nee WIEBE) Sadie Evelyn Dueck (nee Wiebe), aged 87, of Bethel Place, Winnipeg, formerly of Altona, died peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at the Victoria Hospital in Winnipeg after a brief struggle with leukemia. Family will gather at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens for a private farewell where cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Bethel Mennonite Church, 465 Stafford Street on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. Sadie was born to Jacob S. and Nettie (Rempel) Wiebe on February 26, 1928 at Kane, Manitoba in a very small farmhouse. She was the eldest of nine children including: Elizabeth, Annie, Mary, Irvin, George, Peter, Allan, and Gordon. When she was 20 years old she met her soulmate Abram Earl Dueck of Schoenthal, Manitoba and were married on June 25, 1950 in the Kronsgart Mennonite Church. This marriage was blessed with five children. Sadie was predeceased by her parents and in August, 1981 by her husband Abe. She was also preceded in death by her sister Mary and brother Irvin, her nieces Rachel, Karen and Donalda, and nephew Bradley. She is survived by her children: Douglas (Shannon) of Winnipeg; Yvonne (Dennis) Doerksen of Winnipeg; Eileen (Carey) Kehler of Altona; Valerie (Herb) Penner of Altona; and Jeffrey of Steinbach. Also her pride and joy her granddaughters: Stacy, Melissa, Stefanie and Morgan; her grandsons: Steven, Richard, Scott, Nathan and Evan; and her six great-grandchildren: Rebecca, Isaac, Benjamin, Gwendolyn, Ainslee and Charlotte.
