AUDREY DOREEN MACGREGOR (nee KUBIK) Peacefully, on Sunday, October 11, 2015, after a brief illness, our dear Mother and Grandmother passed away at the age of 88 years with family by her side. Left with loving memories are her children Jim (Ena), Judy (Keith) Olford and Caryn (Jim) Zinko; her grandchildren Lori, Amy, Mark, Sean, Stephanie, Christian, Nicholas and Gillian; as well as her great-grandchildren Alissa, Lexy, Greyson and Benjamin. She was predeceased by her husband (our Dad), John (Jack) and her parents Elizabeth and Frank Kubik. Mom grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba and following her graduation, began working at Eaton's. It was here that she met Dad upon his return from the Second World War. They were married in 1948 and made their first home in Calgary, Alberta which is when Mom found her true calling - being a wonderful homemaker. Through all the moves that followed (back to Winnipeg, then to Portage la Prairie, Brandon, Carman, Estevan, Saskatchewan and finally settling back in Winnipeg), Mom took real pride in having an immaculate, well appointed home. She was a great cook and enjoyed making everyone's favourite meals when they came to visit. Following Dad's death in 2006, Mom made her final move into the Boulton Retirement Residence. Here she thrived, making close friends and taking part in the many outings. Although we sometimes heard that the meals weren't how she used to make them, we know that Mom thoroughly enjoyed her final years having someone else do the cooking and the cleaning! Mom's Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main Street at Manitoba Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3L 0K6.
