KATHLEEN STECKY It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother Kay, who went home to be with the Lord on October 20, 2015 after a brief illness. She passed away peacefully at the age of 84 at the Seven Oaks General Hospital in Winnipeg. Kay will be deeply missed by her three children, Audrey, Lin, and Michael; son-in-law Robert and grandsons Erik and Ryan. Kay was predeceased by her husband Nick; son-in-law Bill; parents Nykola and Lena Lukianchuk and her eight siblings and their spouses. Kay was born and raised on a farm on the outskirts of Vita, Manitoba. She married Nick in 1948 and together with their two daughters moved to Winnipeg in 1959. Their family was complete when their son was born in 1966. The family remained in the same home until Kay's move to Concordia Village where she resided until her passing. Kay will be remembered by her family as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and will be missed by all those who knew her warm smile and hospitality. A celebration of Kay's life will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home. The family would like to thank Dr. Jamie Law for her compassionate care for our Mother/ Grandmother and to the staff at the Seven Oaks General Hospital. • Auntie Kay was one of the kindest most compassionate people I've had the honour to know. I will never forget Christmas Eve dinners at her house and Sunday family dinners where the kids would watch Disney in the basement while the grown ups would visit upstairs. I have never found a perogy to this day that tastes as good as Auntie Kay's did. Rest in peace Auntie, your with your family now. - Posted by: Lea-Ann Pohl ( Niece) on: Oct 27, 2015
