LEANDRE BOILY 1927 - 2015 Léandre Boily died on Thursday, October 15, 2015. Léandre is survived by his wife Yvette (nee Jodoin); his children Frédéric (Robin) and Danyelle; three grandchildren: Jesse, Marc and Annette Boily; his brothers Laurent and Aimé (Lorraine), and his sisters Cecile Lachance, Jeanne D'Arc Lavergne, Irène Campeau (Joesph) and Berthe Boily. Also left to mourn his passing are sisters-in-law Anita Albo, Grace Jodoin, Stella Boily and Jeannette Boily; and many nieces and nephews. Cremation and a private family service have taken place. Many, many, years ago, Léandre, Henry Bures and my first husband, Reynard, were colleagues at Red River Community College. This professional relationship soon became a close and lasting friendship which included the wives, Yvette, Christa and me. We three couples enjoyed each others’ company immensely. We went to the theatre together - MTC, Prairie Theatre Exchange and Cercle Molière - ate together, at each others’ homes and in restaurants, and even travelled together occasionally over the years. Léandre was a kind and gentle person but a fierce competitor on the tennis court. He enjoyed discussions and always had many good stories to tell to enliven conversations. When my husband died in 1988, Léandre’s and Yvette’s friendship was invaluable to me and when I later re-married they warmly and generously welcomed my new husband, Brian, into our circle.
