ELIZABETH VERNA AFANASIEV (nee RADUL) January 22, 1935 October 26, 2015 What a journey of sickness our mother has had, but she is finally free to be with our dad Walter who passed away in April 2005. Our Mom lived a full life for seventy-nine years, enjoying good health, independence and freedom. What a gift! Mom was the youngest of seven children, all who have predeceased her. Her children Russell (California), Lisa (Manitoba) and Philip (Thailand) are left to emulate the life she lived. She will also be greatly missed by her granddaughters Jasmine and Chelsea who walked many miles with her over the years. She loved and supported her nieces and nephews, and had that reciprocated, especially in her later years. Mom enjoyed and truly cherished the company of friends from her childhood, friends made in Texas, and many others she met throughout her life. We have a deep respect for all the nurses, health care aids and support staff that made our mother's last year as caring, loving and humorous as possible. A longer tribute and history of our mother's life will be made at a relaxed celebration of her life.
