LORRAINE STEINHAUER Lorraine Steinhauer passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2015, at Grace Hospital, at the age of 78. She was the only child of Millie Deibert (1906 to 1988) and Bill Steinhauer (1904 to 1983). Born on November 8, 1936, in Winnipeg and baptised at Zion Lutheran Church, she was disabled from birth with Cerebral Palsy, but Lorraine thrived due her intelligence and sense of humour. After her mom died, she stayed in the family home on Boyd Avenue with support. Then, came down sizing to a duplex, followed by an apartment. As she aged, she needed more support and moved into the group home with Jeanette and Claire where there was never a dull moment. She loved to shop, have coffee, bake cookies, watch soap operas, listen to country music, party and travel to Las Vegas. Her favourite singer was Elvis. Eventually, she moved to Deer Lodge Centre in March of 2014. Thanks to those who enhanced her quality of life, the Steinhauer and Deibert families, the staff at 22 Oustic Ave., Deer Lodge Centre and Grace Hospital. She will be laid to rest with her parents. A graveside service will take place, Friday, November 6, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at Brookside Cemetery.
