Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryREGINALD GEORGE CARTHER August 18, 1915 - November 3, 2015 Reginald George Carther, 100 years, passed away peacefully in the early hours of Wednesday November 3, 2015. He was born to the late George and Viola Carther, August 18, 1915, in Carman, MB. Reg married the late Freda Martha Plato in 1939. They lived together in Winnipeg, spending many happy winters in Hawaii and their second home in Mesa, Arizona. In his younger days Reg was a member of several hockey teams and was the drummer in his own jazz orchestra that played in and around the Carman area. From 1941 to 1947, Reg served in the R.C.H.A. 38th Field Battery, rising to the rank of Sargent Major. After the war, Reg worked at the T. Eaton Co. as a section manager and signature. In the 1960s, until he retired, Reg worked as manager for his brother-in-law the late Joe Gladstone at Gladstone Motors. Reg enjoyed being with his wife Freda on their many winter getaways, and being with his family and many friends. Reg was predeceased by his wife Freda and his son Ronald. He is survived by his sons Barry Carther of Edmonton and Warren Carther of Winnipeg and a daughter-in-law Lorraine Carther, grandchildren Chantal, Garrett, Christopher, Reginald plus great- grandchildren Nicole, Riana, Brogan and Rhys. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to The Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3L 0K6. The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 9, 2015 at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St., West St. Paul, MB, R4A 2A8. Glen Eden Funeral Home & Cemetery 204-338-7111

So sorry for the loss of your father/grandather/great grandfather. It was great to be at his 100th birthday party this past summer and to get to talk to him. He remembered Blake and his Dad, Bert and told us a few stories about Bert when they were younger. Sorry we cannot be at the funeral.
