Deepest condolences from our family to the entire family of Al Lamontagne. He will be deeply missed by so many people as is his late wife Gertie. Special sympathy to Linda and Rolly who will probably miss his presence most of all as they were so close. We will miss him at the track for sure. Always had time to visit with everyone and I know he was respected and adored. A very good friend to the Grundy family so we imagine Art and he will be talking and exchanging what we mere mortals should be doing with a good horse in mind. Sorry can't make the funeral today - Dr. apptments which have been a long time coming...You are all in our thoughts and prayers. - Posted by: Marlene (Grundy) Rose and Ted Rose (Friends) on: Nov 10, 2015

As a young track rat like me on a place like the backstretch where noone really cares Al and Gertie always had a kind word and made sure we had eaten or had coffee or anything else we needed. I had lost my only grandparent when i was young and Al and Gertie kind of took over that in my eyes. I was most touched when at Gerties funeral he was concerned about whether or not i was going to be there. That still means alot to me. Every time i saw him on the backstretch he would shake my hand and call me Bin laden due to my beard. I loved Al and Gertie and held them in the highest regard. People like them are a rarity in yhis age and to have known them has left a positive impact on my life. With lots of love and respect. Mike Remillard - Posted by: Mike (Remillard) on: Nov 09, 2015
