Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRIEDA BARBARA WIEBE Peacefully, with family by her side, at St. Joseph's Residence on Sunday, November 8, 2015 Frieda passed away in her 93rd year. Frieda was born in Böbing, Germany on December 4, 1922. In 1956 she immigrated to Canada. Frieda started her own family in 1959 with her daughter Angela. In 1967 she married Ben and instantly had a large family to care for. Frieda led a full life, always doing something for other people. She was an awesome cook, baker, seamstress and gardener. She loved trying new crafts - paper tole, ceramics, needle point, and knitting. Frieda was an avid swimmer attending classes at Cindy Klassen Pool for over 20 years until she turned 88. Frieda enjoyed many trips back to Germany and looked forward to the times when her sisters would visit her. Oma loved spending time with her grandchildren all of whom she loved dearly. Left to cherish her memories are her daughters Angela (Bill), Maureen (Dan), Carolyn (Lou), Linda (Al); her grandchildren Breanne (James), Paul (Catherine), Char, Carly (Thomas), Michael (Aimee), Louise (Dave), Lisa (Mike), Cheryl (John); great-grandchildren Logan, Seamus and Mallory; and sister Sula as well as extended family members and friends. We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to all the staff at St. Joseph's for their care and compassion that they provided Frieda during this past year. Funeral service will be held at Green Acres Funeral Home, #1 Highway East at Navin Road on Friday, November 13, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with viewing thirty minutes prior. As a little guy in the mid-1960s, Frieda was my babysitter. She was always incredibly kind, understanding, and kept me well fed! I loved my lunches with Frieda, Angela, and Maureen - I recall laughing most of the time. My heart goes to the girls and I and share in their loss.
