HORST ELSNER 1930 - 2015 Horst Elsner, our Papa and Opa, surrounded by family left us on Remembrance Day November 11, 2015 at 6:45 p.m. at Concordia Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He will be deeply missed. He was born January 9, 1930 in Grimma, Germany. Horst married Irmgried in 1953 in Stommeln, Germany. They started raising their family of three in Germany before immigrating to Canada in 1962. Here they raised their four children. Horst is survived by his wife of 62 years Irmgried; and their four children and their spouses Renate (Jim S.), Brigitte (Terry), Günter (Joan), and Inge (Derrick); grandchildren Joshua, Terry T. (Andrea), Jeremy, James F., Brigitte J. (Derek), Dustin, Katrina, and Stephanie; great-grandchildren Justice, Daniel, and Tyson. Our family would like to extend our thanks and gratitude for the care given to our Papa from the staff at Concordia Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street.
