Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN STEPHEN KOSCHUK December 15, 1947 - November 9, 2015 Peacefully on Monday, November 9, 2015, John passed away at the Victoria Hospital at the age of 67. John was preceded by his father John, mother Rose, sister Linda, and his loving wife Teresa. John will be greatly missed by his son Andrew as well as numerous relatives and lifetimes worth of friends. John was born in Winnipeg's North End, attending St. John's High School, playing football and pool, living every day to the fullest. John started off his professional career working for the City of Winnipeg but got his feet wet in the Health Care field accepting a position at the Riverview Health Centre. Shortly after, John became the Business Manager at the Victoria Hospital in 1973, moving on to MHO as Director of Financial Services in 1979, and then Assistant Executive Director of Concordia Hospital in 1983. John spent over 15 years at Concordia working on several projects. John finished off his professional career with Manitoba Health and retired in the summer of 2000. John met the love of his life Terry in the early 80's and they were married on March 17, 1984. In the spring of 1987 with Andrew in mind they settled in Richmond West among neighbours he was proud to call friends. Summer was a favorite time for John as he was an avid golfer, a longtime member at Breezy Bend Country Club and then later Southwood Country Club. Winter activities included squash, bowling, and curling. John's biggest passion was conversation and in later life, he would simply meet with friends to chew the fat; including all of his good friends down at the Dairy Queen. John, Terry, and Andrew had a full life enjoying each other's company and travelling with good friends all over the country. The addition of Jake the cat brought John immense joy. John was passionate about the life and everyone that knew him knew he wasn't afraid to express himself but was quick to offer help or advice in any situation. The family wishes to thank Darcy and Tony for all their help, support and friendship along with the staff on AB2 (Alzheimer's Unit) for the quality of care given to Teresa and assistance and support given to John, his final mission in life was to ensure for the care and wellbeing of Terry. Cremation has taken place and a gathering for family and friends will be held at a later date at Glen Eden Funeral Home and Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, a donation in memory of John may be made to Riverview Health Centre. Unbeknownst to Peter,John and Peter both attended St John 's and it wasn't until they both reunited at the Re-Fit Centre that they became good friends. They spent many hours both at the Re-Fit and on the phone talking about life. John, you will be greatly missed. Peter and Kathy - Posted by: Peter and Kathy Slezak (Friend) on: Nov 16, 2015

My exposure to John began in the mid-seventies when he was with the Victoria Hospital, followed by his joining MHO in 1979 (same organization as myself) and then the Concordia Hospital. As a friend and also as a member of Breezy Bend Country Club, we spent time on the health issues of the day along with our mutual colleagues. His passing at such a relatively young age came as a shock. He will be sadly missed and our times together will always be remembered. - Posted by: Herman Crewson (Friend) on: Nov 14, 2015

I have fond memories of John during my teenage years. We grew up on the same street in the North end and attended St. John's High School together. I always beat him at pool but he was a better golfer. I was supposed to go golfing with him the day he got his "hole in one" at Kildonan golf course, but I slept in that morning. I had not seen him for many years but was fortunate to have had a wonderful visit with him this past summer. My deepest sympathies go out to his family and close friends. I know he will be missed. - Posted by: Earl Bubis (Friend) on: Nov 14, 2015
