Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBEN L. KINKEAD Devastatingly on November 11, 2015, Benjamin "Ben" Lionel Kinkead, age 62, died at the family farm in Eriksdale, MB. Ben was born October 9, 1953 to Audrey and William Kinkead. He was the first of five boys. He was raised in Argyle until the family moved to Eriksdale in 1966. He attended Eriksdale Collegiate and worked as a mechanic's helper for Arnie Lechelt. He met Debbie Windross through friends and dated for two years. During this time, Ben worked as a pasture rider at Blue Meadows Ranch and as a mechanic in Balmoral, MB. He and Debbie married October 28, 1972 and together worked various jobs in the Agriculture industry. Both had a love of horses and cattle. Ben and Debbie had three children and raised them on the family farm in Eriksdale, using the K4 brand that his father established. Raising children, farming and mechanics occupied the early years of their marriage. In 1997, Ben fulfilled his lifelong dream of opening his own repair shop which he named Boneyard General Repair. In 2008, Ben would experience two traumatizing events; the death of his brother Fairlie and the burning of his shop. Out of the ashes, Ben rebuilt his shop and continued to provide the dedicated service he was known for, often going above and beyond what anyone would expect. From scratch, he built and established a flourishing legacy that supported his family and will continue to do so. Ben was exceedingly proud of his family, his farm and his shop. Ben is predeceased by his parents Bill and Audrey and his brother Fairlie. He leaves to grieve deeply his wife Debbie; his son Clint (Tracey) and their children Cash and Sage; daughter Tammy (Sam) and their children Stetson and Garrett; son Ben (Dana) and their daughter Dillynn. He leaves behind his brothers, Kevin (Charlene), Bob (Val), Scott (Vienna) and families, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, many friends and valued customers. Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at the Eriksdale Recreation Centre with Pastor Bill Watson officiating. Interment to follow in the Nord Cemetery. A casual gathering will follow at Boneyard General Repair. Pallbearers will be Ben Kinkead, Scott Kinkead, Bob Kinkead, Kevin Kinkead, Glen Kingsley and Stan Flinta. Everyone in attendance can consider themselves Honorary Pallbearers. The family wants to extend a thank you to the Emergency workers and the community at large for all the help and support. Your compassion and kindness has not gone unnoticed and will never be forgotten. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the memory of Ben Kinkead to the E.M. Crowe Memorial Hospital Guild, c/o Irene Sigurdson, Box 474, Eriksdale, MB R0C 0W0 or to the Eriksdale Fire Department, c/o RM of West Interlake, PO Box 10, Eriksdale, MB R0C 0W0.
