HELEN SKAKUN November 30, 1926 - November 16, 2015 Suddenly, 14 days short of her 89 birthday, Mom peacefully went to sleep. She is survived by her loving son Larry; daughter-in-law Lottie; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters Kay (Norm), Eileen, and June (Al); as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband Paul; sister Ann; and parents Nick and Jennie. Mom worked for the City of Winnipeg (Transit) for 20 years. Mom's passions were the Casino and Bingo, and cooking traditional Ukrainian food. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 20, 2015 at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. Interment and reception will follow. Viewing will take place one hour prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, friends and family may make a donation in Helen's name to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital, 3rd Floor, Unit 8, for all their special care and attention shown to Helen.
