FLORENTYNA WOJAKOWSKI Peacefully on Tuesday, November 10, 2015, our beloved mom, grandma and great-grandma, Florentyna passed away at Riverview Health Centre, at the age of 88 years. Her husband Jozef predeceased her in 1994. Mom is survived by her five children Margaret (Dallas), Christina, Dianne (Marcel), Joe (Bev) and Janet (Randy); grandchildren Kerry, Katerina, Daisanne, Jennifer, Natasha, Dustin, Victoria and Alex; and great-grandchildren Kaitlyn, Kira and Mason. Mom was born June 22, 1927 in Rybnik, Poland; spending most of her childhood in an orphanage. Mom met the love of her life Jozef and in 1955, together with their daughters Margaret and Christina, emigrated from Germany, they made Winnipeg their home. Mom enjoyed gardening, canning fruits and vegetables, ceramics, knitting, crocheting, camping, spending time with her grandchildren and granddogs. She loved cooking for her family; she made the best cabbage rolls, perogies - especially the blueberry ones, sauerkraut, plum cake and fruitcake. Christmas time at Mom's place was magical; from the food, to the baking, to the decorated tree, to all the decorations throughout the house! She adored all animals; especially birds and dogs. The family would like to thank the staff at Riverview Health Centre for their care and compassion provided during her stay and the last few days of her time on earth. A private celebration of her life for family and friends will take place at a later date.
