JAMES HERBERT OWEN ROBERTSON January 1, 1930 - November 18, 2015 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandpa and great-grandpa Jim, on November 18, 2015, at the age of 85. Jim is survived by his loving wife Verna, of 63 years; children, Jim (Marian) Robertson, Barbara Robertson, Linda (Don) Masella, Marian (Greg) Riach; grandchildren, Keith (Melissa), Lindsay (Ryan), Nick (Bobbi-Jo), Amanda (Christiaan), Ashley, Candace (Douglas), Don (Jenny), Anthony (Lauren), Chad, Jessica; great-grandchildren, Hailey-Jo, Kaylee, Shiloh, Luca, Ryker, Kole, Lilly, Luci; sister June Ann, brother-in-law Harry, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Herbert and Irene, sister Muriel. Jim gave 38 years of hard work and dedication to his employment at MTS but his true love was sports. This was recognized when he was inducted into the MB Baseball Hall of Fame in 2015. Jim's favourite place to be was "sunny" Ingolf, spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was known for his corny jokes, aka "Grandpa Jokes" that everyone shakes their head at, but can't help but laugh. He will be truly missed and forever in our hearts and memories. Rest peaceful. In keeping with Jim's wishes, cremation has taken place and a family service was held. NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 neilbardalinc.com

Condolences & Memories (7 entries)

  • I an deeply saddened to hear if Jim's passing. I and my family will miss him being next door at the lake. I fondly remember spending hours and hours with "Mr. Robertson" running phone wire at the lake as a kid, installing the first Ingolf 10 line phone system. It was probably one of the reasons I started my engineerIng career at MTS. I will miss his laugh. - Posted by: Len Dacombe (Ingolf Next Door Neighbour) on: Nov 25, 2015

  • Jim and Marian, so sorry to hear the passing of your dad. He was a wonderful man. I am still so grateful that he introduced me to curling when I was 13 years old. I spent 45 years involved in that sport and loved every minute of it. Tom - Posted by: Tom McGimpsey (friend) on: Nov 21, 2015
