ROBERT DOUGLAS CHORNOPYSKI April 2, 1949 - November 15, 2015 It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Bob on Sunday November 15, 2015 at St. Boniface Hospital with his son Danny by his side. Left to mourn are his son Danny; daughter-in-law Miriam; granddaughters, Olive, Anna, and Willow. Bob is survived by the love of his life, Mary Chornopyski. Bob is also survived by his brothers Kenny (Carol) and Ron; sister Connie (Warren); nephews Cory (Vivian), Michael (Samantha), Billy, and niece Jenny (Chris), and many sisters and brothers-in-law. Bob is predeceased by his parents Bill and Elsie Chornopyski. Bob was educated at Tec-Voc school as a printer, a trade which he enjoyed for many years at the University of Manitoba, first at the Fort Garry Campus, and then for more than two decades at the Bannatyne Campus. Bob enjoyed many years of membership with the Arlington Sports Club, attending their fishing lodge in Lac Du Bonnet regularly. Bob was an absolute shark at snooker who relished in his self-proclaimed title, the "Silver Fox". Unfortunately, Bob was a lifelong Toronto Maple Leafs fan. Bob's pride and joy of his life was his "boy" Danny. Bob was unashamed and completely biased in this regard, and revelled in telling anyone who would hear it all about his boy and his accomplishments. This treatment trickled down to his boy's children, "the girls" whom he loved and knew and who will love and know him. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Seven Oaks and St. Boniface Hospital, who truly did everything possible to keep Bob with us. It was his time. A reception will be held in celebration of Bob's life at Glen Eden Funeral Home at 4477 Main Street, on Saturday, November 28 at 10:00 a.m. All family and friends are welcome.
