RUDI SCHNEIDER September 1, 1927 - November 19, 2015 Peacefully after a brief illness, Rudi Schneider passed away at St. Boniface Hospital. Rudi was born in Langenbielau, Schlessingen, Germany to Bruno and Anna Schneider, third of nine children. In 1961 he married Lieselotte Mombauer and together they immigrated to Canada, eventually settling in Winnipeg. Rudi worked at several different jobs before obtaining long term work as an electrician with Warkentin Electric. He later started his own company, Schneider Electric. Rudi was always planning and working on different projects. He built several homes as well as rec rooms and furniture for friends and family. His greatest joy was his cottage in Pointe Du Bois, Manitoba which he transformed into a summer haven. Rudi could fix anything and he was always willing to lend a hand to family and friends. Rudi is survived by his wife Lilo, two children, Sabine (Stephen), Gordon (Collette), five grandchildren, Mackenzie (Marcus), Lauren, Ian, Alyssa, Regan, as well as extended family in Germany. Rudi's family would like to thank the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke foundation. Funeral Service will take place at Glen Eden Funeral Home 4477 Main St., West St. Paul on Friday, November 27 at 11:00 a.m.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Our sincere sympathy on the passing of Rudi. We remember he and the family with fondness and friendship while we were neighbors with a young family. We appreciated the hospitality extended. Rudi was always willing to lend a helping hand. We were unable to attend the service and wish you all to know our prayers are with you at this difficult time. We know he will be missed. - Posted by: Leo and Gail Scheer (former neighbours and friends) on: Nov 27, 2015
