Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEMILY ROMANIC It is with deep sorrow that the family announces the passing of our mother, Emily Romanic, aged 95, at the Kildonan Personal Care Centre on November 24, 2015. Emily leaves to cherish her memory her children Sylvia Dempster (Joe Heath) and Louise Keith; grandchildren Linda Gauvin, Katterina Powers and Carol Romanic; great-grandchildren Alora, Evan, Kaden, Nicholas, Aira, Tyson and Sam. She is survived by her sister-in-law Mary Mazur as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Louis, in 2000; parents Frank and Katerina (nee Stepko) Mazur; children Anton and Linda; brothers Steve (Mary) Mazur, Leslie (Dora) Mazur, Harry (Katie) Mazur, Paul Mazur and sisters Nettie (Frank) Florko, Annie (Roman) Panasky and Sophie (Nick) Kolynchuk as well as sister-in-law Mary (Peter) Mazur and brother-in-law Peter Romanic. Emily began life in Melrose, MB on September 26, 1920 and on November 19, 1938 married the man who would be her husband for 62 years, Louis Romanic. Together they enjoyed, to the fullest, many years of farming in Oak Hammock before retiring to Selkirk, MB. Emily moved to Kildonan Care Centre eight years ago. She was a very generous and kind person who always took the time to make those around her feel welcome and special. She loved the farm life, especially her garden, and was a phenomenal cook. She was a caring wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who will be so very missed. A special thank you goes out to all the wonderful staff at Kildonan Care Centre who took such loving care of our Mother. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer you to take a moment to hug your loved ones and let them know how much they mean to you. Time waits for no one. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 2 at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Rossdale, Mb with Father Yaroslav Budakavich officiating. Interment to follow in the parish cemetery.
