Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAMES (JIM) ERNEST FARDY Peacefully on Monday, November 23, 2015, Jim Fardy passed away at the Grace Hospital at the age of 80 years. Remaining to mourn Jim are his son, Mike; daughter-in-law Darlene; grandson Jamie; sister Mickey (Art); step-family, Diane Phillips (Ross), Doreen Collins (Tom), Jim Whitehill (Denalda) and Bev Tovey (Greg); numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; his first wife Marie LeBlanc; uncle Earl; aunt Enie; as well as aunt Gladys Gallant. He was predeceased by his beloved and devoted wife of 35 years, Jan; parents, Ernest and Adeline Fardy, and stepson Bob. On May 28, 1935, Jim was born in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. In 1969 he and his son Mike moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba. Jim's first job when arriving to Winnipeg was the caretaker of Silver Heights Community Club. He then began working at Manitoba Hydro where he retired on April 29, 1994. Jim's life was sports. Back in the days in Charlottetown, he was an accomplished cyclist who set numerous records, was a great golfer, bowler and ball player. His last BUCKET accomplishment was getting a "Hole-in-One" at Bridges on August 14, 2015. Jim enjoyed watching his grandchildren play hockey and ball and will be sadly missed by his special friend Will and all of his friends of the St. James/Westwood Senior Bowling Leagues. A celebration of Jim's life will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main Street at Manitoba Avenue. I will very much miss our regular Sunday morning chats. Jim missed my mother (Jan) greatly and memories of her were always part of our weekly phone calls. Here's to you and Mom sharing many more laughs together on Heaven's Greens. Surely, there must be some awesome golf courses up there!
