Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBENJAMIN BRUCE March 22, 1929 - November 24, 2015 It is with profound sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and devoted husband, Benjamin Bruce on November 24, 2015. Benny is survived by his wife of 57 years, Suzanne; daughters Marlene, Arlene (Lorne) and Judy (Robert); sons Benjamin Jr. (Leslie), Conrad (Brenda), Carl (Kim), Howard (Marcy) and Darryl; 16 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, sister Cecilia, brother-in-law Herb Perkin, sister-in-law Donalda, daughter-in-law Michelle, and numerous nieces and nephews. Benny was predeceased by his parents Andrew and Albertine, siblings Ethel, Dorothy, Anita, Edgar, Roland, Laura, Lionel, Robert, Brucy and Ella. Benny was born on March 22, 1929 in St. Laurent, Manitoba and spent his entire life there. Benny was an extremely hard worker and dedicated family man. He worked tirelessly to provide for his family to ensure everyone was taken care of. Many memories were made on our homemade rinks he made for his children every winter. His joy was always his family, and later in life, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Never did a child ever leave the house without that extra $5, $10 or even $20 in his\her pocket. Prayers will be held Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. followed by Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Laurent Roman Catholic Church. Officiating will be lifelong friend, Father Dominique Kerbrat, OMI and Father Paul Tinguely. Interment will follow in the church yard cemetery at a later date. Pallbearers will be Robbie Carriere, Ricky Carriere, Collin Bennett, Brad Bruce, Keenan Bruce, and Benjamin Bruce III. Honorary Pallbearers will be all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family wish to express sincere thanks to Dr Neil Burnet for his years of taking care of Dad; Dr. Donald Allan and staff at the Health Sciences Centre Renal Clinic; Dr. Dirk Venter, as well as the nurses and staff at the Dr. Evelyn Memorial Hospital in Stonewall for their care and compassion in Dad's final days. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation, Palliative Care in the Stonewall Hospital, the St. Laurent Roman Catholic Church or any other charity of their choice.
