ROGER COOKSON (YOGI) May 1, 1939 - November 26, 2015 Suddenly on November 26, 2015, while courageously battling cancer, our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away at Stonewall Hospital with his family by his side. Roger was predeceased by his father Mawson and his mom Flossie. Surviving to mourn his loss are his wife of 49 years, Shirley, his son Billy (Shelley), daughter Joanne (Carl). Also left to mourn his loss are his three granddaughters Brandi (Adam), Kaitlyn (Will), Carlee (Ryan). Papa was especially proud of his two great-grandchildren Victoria (his little sweetie) and Ethan (his little man). He also leaves behind his brother-in-law Douglas, and numerous nieces and nephews. Roger was born on May 1, 1939 in Winnipeg to Mawson and Flossie Cookson. He grew up in the Cordova area, later moving to Austin, MB and then Plumas, MB. Roger worked for road construction owning his own backhoe business. In 1978 Roger and his family moved to Teulon where he was employed by Rockwood Farm Supply for 26 years. Roger was a volunteer fire fighter in Plumas, Austin and Teulon for over 43 years. As per Roger's wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of Roger's Life will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 2:00 p.m., at the Teulon-Rockwood Centennial Centre.
