Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBARBARA JEAN BARCLAY Barbara died on December 3, 2015 at Lions Manor Personal Care Centre. Barbara was the dearly loved wife of the late Rev. David Barclay and mother of Ruth Barclay and loving grandmother of Bethany and Hannah. She was predeceased by her parents Albert and Gladys Sangster of Toronto. She was the sister of Donald Sangster (Anne) of Oakville, Ontario. Barbara was born in Toronto, Ontario. After her marriage in 1962, she moved with her husband David to Smooth Rock Falls in Northern Ontario in the Diocese of Moosonee. They later moved to the Diocese of Rupert's Land. They retired in Winnipeg. Barbara worked at the University of Manitoba, Faculty of Law for several years. During her retirement, Barbara enjoyed her various volunteer positions. The service will be held on Monday, December 7, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Andrews on the Red Anglican Church, 3 St. Andrews Road, St. Andrews, Manitoba. The family would like to thank the staff at Lions Manor Personal Care Centre for the compassionate care given to Mom over the last few years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Andrews on the Red Anglican Church, 3 St. Andrews Road, St. Andrews, Manitoba R1A 2Y4, CancerCare Manitoba, 1160 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3E 0V9 or a charity of your choice. I didn't have the pleasure of meeting Barbara in person but knew of her through my good friend and Barbara's daughter Ruth. It sounds like she was a really lovely person. Deepest sympathy to Barbara's family and friends and especially Ruth, Hannah and Bethany. May you have time to grieve but also to celebrate a life well lived.
