JIM KEITH MCMILLAN
Date of Passing: Dec 06, 2015
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJIM KEITH MCMILLAN Peacefully on December 6, 2015, Jim Keith McMillan slipped away at home to be with his Lord and Saviour. He was predeceased by his mother Molly, father Russell and brother Brian. He is survived by his loving wife Cheryl; sons David (Lori), Darren (Leanne) Rob (Nicole); grandchildren Karly, Riley, Cameron, Shayla, Ryan, Gracie and Kate. Jim was born and raised in Winnipeg and grew up in East Kildonan. He was a natural athlete and could do all sports with ease. He was an exceptional hockey player and competed for the Winnipeg Rangers and Selkirk Fishermen. Jim was also an accomplished water skier and golfer. His love for golf was passed onto his boys. Times spent on the golf course were cherished memories for Jim and his sons. Jim spent most of his working years in the boat business as on owner/operator of Invader Boats Canada. Jim was currently employed at Bee Clean Cleaning services as a consultant. Jim made many close friendships with his coworkers through the years. His most meaningful times were spent with his loving family and precious wife Cheryl. Jim's greatest joy was when he was surrounded by his family no matter the occasion. Dad never missed a hockey game, golf tournament or any function of his children or grandchildren. Jim also had a special place in his heart for his Riverwood Church community where he faithfully served. Jim made numerous close friendships at Riverwood and was always the smiling face greeting people with his famous hugs. Dad was a man of few words but we always knew how much he loved us. He selflessly put others' needs before his own. He would not rest until everyone was taken care of. He taught us so much by how he lived his life. He was a strong, kind, caring and supportive man. He leaves us with a legacy of love. Funeral service will be held at North Kildonan Mennonite Brethren Church, 1315 Gateway Road, Winnipeg, MB, on Thursday, December 10, at 11:00 a.m. www.seasonsfunerals.ca

Cheryl, Dave, Butch and Rob, so sorry to hear about Jim's passing. He was a great man with the right attitude on life. Cheryl, you and Jim always provided a warm and inviting home to your boys' friends growing up, and would accommodate any request we had. Jim's jovial personality made him very easy to relate to, and his sense of humour was as sharp as a tack. He has left his mark on all of the boys, not just with respect to incredible golf skills, but also their personality and values. Shocked and saddened to hear of Jims passing. Our hearts go out and prayers go up for Cheryl and family. I'm so thankful for his friendship and the many years golfing Saturday mornings at Transcona. He always spoke of his boys and grandchildren, he was so proud of them all. As Darren said, he passed as he lived, quietly and under the radar, but he greatly affected all around him, he was quiet but caring and strong with a great sense of humour. We will miss you Jim. - Posted by: Gord & Emily Martens (Friends) on: Dec 08, 2015

I first came to know Jim when I became the usher coordinator at church. Jim was scheduled for every two weeks and yet, on his off week, he would be standing at the door with his usher badge shaking hands and hugging folks. "Jim, you're not scheduled this week. Are you working?" "I'm here. Sure" "Okay. Left side?" "Yup." After a few weeks it became "Left side?" "Yup" every week. Whenever I was doing the next schedule and asked everyone what dates do not work for them his answer was "As you need me" every single time. The kind of guy you want in your life. I will miss him tremendously and imagine him standing there on the left side till offering was taken and then joining Cheryl during the sermon. Many condolences to the family. I'me sure that Jim was an amazing dad, husband and grandpa. - Posted by: Jos Gatien (Friend) on: Dec 08, 2015
