ERIKA FIGUR June 3, 1933 - December 4, 2015 Erika Figur, aged 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 4, 2015 at the Beausejour Hospital, Manitoba. Erika will be lovingly remembered by her son Hans, the Ranson and Sudeyko families and good friend Vera Radke. She is also survived by nephews Werner and Gerd, niece Astrid, as well as Paul, Inge, Streimer who all reside in Germany. Erika was predeceased by her husband Emil, parents Yohannes and Erna, and daughter-in-law Gladys. Erika was born in Remkersleben, Germany and immigrated to Manitoba with her husband, parents-in-law, and son in 1965. She helped to run the "U-Pick Strawberries" business with her husband Emil and friend Vera. Mom loved flowers and spending time gardening. Mom would attend church on a regular basis and would read daily bread devotionals. She also loved to travel and took several trips to Florida and Hawaii. In her spare time, mom enjoyed watching Lawrence Welk and comedy shows on the television. Viewing will be held on Thursday, December 10 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel in Beausejour, Manitoba. Cremation will follow and a memorial service will be held on Friday, December 11 at 11:00 a.m. also at Sobering Funeral Chapel. Interment will take place at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Beausejour with a reception to follow at Sobering Funeral Chapel. The family extends their sincere thanks to Dr. Van Rensburg and all the staff at East Gate Lodge and Stony Plains Terrace for their wonderful care.
