ED STILL It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of Ed Still at the age of 52 years, after a lengthy battle with diabetes. He was predeceased by his dad, Denis in April, 1998. Left to mourn his passing is his mom Lorraine; sister Karen (Rick) West and family of Burlington, Ontario; brother Craig (Barb and girls) of St. Albert, Alberta; and also his family in Selkirk; brother Bob and family in Selkirk and Ed's wife Karin and family. Ed was born and raised in Selkirk. He was an outstanding athlete, excelling in basketball and was recently inducted into the Manitoba Basketball Hall of Fame. He was always the leader, and the life of every party. Everyone has a humorous story to tell of their time spent with Eddie (The Legend). Ed had a deep love for his mom, his wife, and his grandson Caleb who called Ed Papa. He also had a special love for all his many friends, his cat Ichy and especially the commercial fishermen. Ed often said "I can see why Jesus called the fishermen to be his disciples." Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 11 at 1:00 p.m. in the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 106 Sawchuk Dr., St. Andrew's (just south of the rolling mills) with Rev. Ken Pawluk officiating. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements. Www.gilbartfuneralhome.com

  • I will miss Ed very much. He was the star in some of my favorite teen and early adult memories. He was always the life of the party, always ready to lend a hand, and he was wonderful to talk to. I will miss you Ed. Rest in peace. - Posted by: Cher Gottfredsen (Friend) on: Dec 10, 2015
