Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDWARD BLACK July 27, 1948 - December 9, 2015 Edward Black passed away peacefully at the Maples Personal Care Home after a lengthy battle with Diabetes. He was predeceased by his father Edgar; brother Bernard. Left to mourn are his mother Rita; son Shawn Mitchell (Trista); his partner Marissa Cansanay and her children; brother George (Louisa); sister Ida (Armand) Brule; grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Eddie worked in the transport industry for many years. He was a well-liked, fun loving person who crossed paths with many people. He struggled many years with his disability and now he rests. A celebration of Eddie's life in the form of a "come and go" will be held Saturday, December 19, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at the Glen Eden Reception Centre at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. I am so sorry to hear about Ed's passing, I had lost touch with him since his leaving Gardewine. We worked together for many years and I have a lot of good memories of him. I knew Ed for many years ... from the time he and his family of origin lived on Bryce St., in Fort Rouge, to his former residence on Beverly Street. My condolences to Ed's family, his mother Rita, sister Ida, and brother George. I must admit, this really came as a shock to me. We will meet again, later, in a much better place, along with your father, brother Bernie and all the rest of everyone you and I ever, knew ! RIP Ed ...
