Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRANCES E. MCLEOD 1933 - 2015 Peacefully in the early morning hours of Monday, December 14, 2015, Frances Ellen McLeod (nee Noseworthy) loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away at St. Boniface Hospital. Predeceased by her beloved husband of 56 years, Robert in 2011, she leaves to mourn her passing sister Pat (Norm), sons Ken (Cathy), David (Gwyn), Gordon (Debbie) and precious grandchildren Amy and Alexander. Fran was born April 25, 1933 in Kenora, Ontario but after a few family moves, Winnipeg became home. While in the process of earning her teaching degree at the U of M, she met the love of her life, Bob. Married in July 1955, they embarked on their wonderful life together. Fran first worked as a high school teacher, and in 1967 joined the City of Winnipeg Parks and Recreation Department as a Leisure Instructor. While raising three boys, she built a successful career in the health and fitness field. Fran moved to Sargent Park as the Chief Fitness Instructor in 1977 and she became the Program Coordinator of Sport and Fitness for the City of Winnipeg in 1982. After 21 years with the City, Fran joined Bob in retirement. Winters consisted of numerous trips to the Gulf Coast of Florida before finally settling in Paradise Park in Pharr, Texas. Nearly 30 summers were spent fishing, swimming, and playing cards with family and friends at Shady Lane on Granite Lake, Ontario. Other favourite pastimes included golf, reading a good book, playing bridge, exercising and the occasional costume party! Fran's outgoing personality and her genuine interest in people, their lives and their families, resulted in the establishment of countless lifelong friendships over the years. A celebration of Fran's life will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. In recognition of the outstanding dedication and commitment of those in the healthcare profession, donations can be made to a charity of one's choice. We feel fortunate to have known Fran & Bob as neighbours in the Westwood area of Winnipeg during the middle 60's. We stayed in contact with them through the years with visits, letters and a very enjoyable trip to the Maritimes in 2001. We have many happy memories of our time together. Our condolences to all the family. Bev, Doug & Family - Posted by: Bev & Doug Hildebrand (Friends) on: Dec 16, 2015

We had the good fortune to have Fran and Bob as our wonderful neighbours at Granite Lake for many years. Their sense of humour was boundless and Fran was a good storyteller. And as fate would have it, we followed in their footsteps to Texas - of which we had heard many tales. Fran holds a special place in our heart. - Posted by: Rick and Lynda Palmer (Friends) on: Dec 16, 2015
