Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHILDEGARD KOSKE (WEKWERT) September 22, 1941 December 15, 2015 It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the unexpected passing of our beloved Hilda (Oma) on December 15, 2015 at the age of 74 years. Among the many hearts missing her terribly are her son Robert (Kim), her sisters Leokadia and Adelgunda, her brother Ziegfried (Randa), and her much adored grandchildren Zachary, Nena and Tawnya. She was predeceased by her husband of 35 years Paul, in 1995, as well as her parents Friedrick and Emma, her brothers Edmund, Earnst and Waldemar, and her sister Margaret. Born in Poland, Hilda came to Canada from Germany with her family in 1955 and settled in Winnipeg. Paul was the love of her life and they married in June 1960. She was always a hard worker not retiring until 2013 at the age of 71. Hilda was passionate about many things she loved to decorate the home she and Paul built and always had a home décor project on the go. She spent as much time in her garden as possible and took much pleasure in enjoying the view of the flowers from her deck. She was an accomplished crafter and made many beautiful needlepoints. Lately, her favorite project was crocheting dozens of afghans for charity. She was often the host for holiday dinners and was legendary for her meatballs, and the amount of food that was on the table. She loved to play games dice and chickenfoot, and recently discovered the fun of puzzles on her Ipad. She loved music, and travelling the world visiting childhood friends and family in Germany, taking tropical beach vacations with Rob, Kim and Zachary or trips to visit family in Canada and the USA. She always had a packed social calendar lunch dates with her girlfriends, exploring new restaurants, or visiting with family and friends. Her infectious giggle, always rosy cheeks and sense of adventure will be missed terribly by so many. Please join us for a celebration of her life on Monday, December 21, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden at 4477 Main Street. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to either the Good Neighbours Active Living Centre at Bronx Community Centre (720 Henderson Highway R2K 0Z5) as Hilda crocheted for the "Blanketing" program there or a charity of your choice.
