OLAFUR (OLI) THOR EINARSON Peacefully, on December 18, 2015, with family by his side, our dear Oli left us after a short battle with cancer. He will forever be held in the hearts of his beloved wife of 52 and one half years, Doris; his daughter Sherri (Tony) and son Jeff (Kim); and his grandchildren who will miss him dearly, Wade, Alida and Aidan. He was predeceased by his precious granddaughter Thora in 2004; parents, Olafur and Disa; and his in-laws, Kate and Mundi Gudmundson. Oli was the most hardworking man, and always kept himself busy. He was employed at Seagrams for 30 years and after his retirement enjoyed giving tours of his plant. He farmed and commercial fished, and with family ran the Arnes Cottage Inn where he would share memories for days! In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting with his son, grandson and friends, carving barrels for many people to enjoy, and most importantly helping his wife with her endless amounts of crafts, which they both enjoyed. Oli was never sitting around, he worked around the clock and only stopped to come in and enjoy his wife's cooking. He was always thinking of ways to make things easier around the house, to how he could set up the best Christmas decorations. Oli was the best Husband, Dad, and Afi and we are thankful for the years of memories we have all had with him, he will be missed more then he will ever know. We would like to thank the doctors and nurses at CancerCare Manitoba for all that they did. Thank you to Julie and Tannis at the Gimli Community Health Center, Dad's home care nurse Carol and Laura from palliative care. As per Dad's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service. Interment will take place at a later date.
