Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOAN OSTROM (nee EVANS) Joan passed away peacefully in Cartwright, Manitoba, on December 1, 2015 at the age of 82. Joan was predeceased by her mother in 1984. She leaves to mourn her son Leslie Ostrom, daughters Susan Hammington (Chris), and Edna Bains (Pat). Also granddaughters Jessica, Madison, Heather, Jessica, Brianna and Stephanie, as well as great-grandchildren Emily, Patricia and Austin. Born and raised in Winnipeg, Joan spent the last 11 years of her life in Cartwright. She was elected to the town council and served for nine years. Joan was involved in various organizations including the Orioles Community Centre, The Kiwanis, The Merry Makers and The Alzheimer's Society. She enjoyed reading, music, puzzles and knitting her lambs. A Celebration of Joan's Life will be held at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Avenue on December 29, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow.
