CONNIE DARLENE GRAY 1945 - 2015 It is with heavy hearts and extreme sadness that we advise of the passing of Connie Darlene Gray. Connie was predeceased by her grandmother, Estelle Willsey; mother Inez and father Tommy Early and is survived by her brother, Ronnie Gray (Connie L); nieces, Tarra McCannell (AJ, Alaina and Gray) and Chelsea Kirkland (Jered, Ava and Jacob); stepbrother Spencer Early (Jan) and stepsisters Kathy Ullrich and Colleen Early and many loving cousins and friends and her dear friend Emil. Connie was a very loving, caring and generous person who truly nurtured and cherished and embraced all her friendships. She fought her disease with much dignity and bravely faced each challenge that came her way. Connie did not want her life's journey, activities and accomplishments listed as she felt that all who knew her also knew her life's story. What she did want was to Thank her family, friends and previous co-workers who were all very special and important to her and fully enriched her life. Connie also wanted to Thank her new found travelling girlfriends, although her travels were not as frequent as hoped, she enjoyed their friendship and her fun times together with them. As per Connie's request there will be no service and her final resting place will be with her mother and grandmother in Saskatoon in the future. When we lose someone we love, we must learn not to live without them.....But to live with the LOVE they left behind. Our loved ones never truly leave us, they live on in the kindness they showed, the comfort they shared and the love they brought into our lives - If love could have kept Connie alive - she would have lived forever. While at this time there is no Pulmonary Fibrosis Association, a foundation is in the works through the Manitoba Lung Association. Anyone wishing to make a donation in Connie's memory could do so with the Manitoba Lung Association or a charity of their choice. NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 neilbardalinc.com

Condolences & Memories (12 entries)

  • I have just learned of Connie's passing. My kids, mom and husband and I loved her a lot. Connie's personality was always one of warmth and acceptance. I only can venture a guess that all those that have ever met this lovely lady couldn't resist to love her. She just had that way about her. I am thinking about her and my mom. It just isn't fair that good, kind, productive, unselfish go getters that loved life just isn't present with us anymore. Love you, Auntie C. - Posted by: Michelle () on: Aug 26, 2016

  • We just learned of Connie's passing and are so sorry. She was such a wonderful person, always a happy smile. We shared many great times especially in the old Gillam years, times we will never forget. We bumped into her in the summer and had a great visit, not knowing it would be our last. We will miss you Connie, rest in peace. Condolences to her family. - Posted by: Marie and Dennis Maksymchuk (Friend from Hydro ) on: Apr 23, 2016

  • I met Connie when she came over to say hi after she moved in next door on Tumbo Place in Sidney. We hit it off immediately and spent time together talking, walking and being involved in local events. We loved Buchart and rode the merry-go-round on our shared 65th birthday. I am so glad I got to visit her this past summer in Winnipeg. She and I shared memories and laughed and talked about our families and their love. She was positive and brave and seldom complained, I will miss her very much, Lynda Comber, Sidney, BC - Posted by: Lynda C Comber (friend) on: Jan 04, 2016

  • We knew Connie through Emil and immediately knew that she was a lovely woman. She was a very gracious host, wanting you to feel at home in her home and we did so easily. Genuine warmth and welcoming arms, she made a very lasting impression during the few times we got to visit. • Connie was absolutely lovely. We were very fortunate to have been guests with her and Emil in their beautiful Victoria home. She was a fabulous hostess and made us feel so welcome. • Connie and I began our friendship while i was working in the home of a mutual friend. She was wanting a new kitchen built for her new home in Sidney. From our first meeting to discuss design, etc., it quickly became apparent that our relationship would be more than simply client and contractor. Her, Emil and I spent many happy hours not only talking about work and the cabinetry, but also about life, God, and other common interests. Connie became a dear friend to both my wife and I, and although we were parted by our return to live and work in Australia, we will remember her as warm, generous, quick to laugh, and fun to be around and talk to. Our condolences and love to the family. - Posted by: Nelson Attwood (Friend and cabinetmaker, who worked in Connie's home in Sidney, BC) on: Jan 03, 2016
