ELIZABETH (BETTY) H. KWITECKI March 7, 1941 - December 30, 2015 Peacefully at home Betty, beloved wife of Michael and mother of Deborah, passed away at age 74. Betty was born in Regina, SK and moved to Winnipeg at a very young age with her mother and sister Elaine. She will be sadly missed by sisters Georgina, Trudy (Ralph), Gerrie (Bob), Grace, mother-in- law Connie (Bob) and in-laws Brian (Sian), Bev (Jim), Shirley (Kent), David (Jen) and numerous nieces and nephews. Betty was predeceased by parents Edward and Phyllis Todd, siblings Elaine and Edward and in-laws Mac, Doug, Wayne, Fred, Jim, Doreen, Lefty, Anne (Ed), nephew Norman and niece Samantha. Betty worked for Canada Safeway for 35 years primarily in the bakery department where she was a renowned cake decorator. In previous years she enjoyed travelling with Mike, seeing Las Vegas several times, taking many trips to Brian's cottage in Lac Du Bonnet and to Anne's home in the U.S. She took trips to Vancouver with her mother and enjoyed visiting her very good friends in Alberta and British Columbia. At one time, she was an avid bingo player and enjoyed many visits to the casinos of Winnipeg. Betty was an enormous Elvis fan, having a huge collection of Elvis music and memorabilia. She was pleasantly surprised to have a visit from "Elvis" for her 70th birthday celebration arranged by Bev's children. She was often concerned more about Mike, family and friends than herself, always being incredibly thoughtful and genuinely selfless. Betty was very well known for her immense love of animals and spoiling them with endless love and "treats". Family was very important to Betty and she was very close to her sisters and sisters-in-law. She had a special bond with her mother-in-law Connie and they spent many happy times together. According to her wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue at 2:00 p.m., January 8, 2016.
