BONNIE CAROLYNN PLOUFFE (nee WATSON) It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bonnie Carolynn Plouffe (Watson), 68, on January 3, 2016 at St. Boniface Hospital, after a brave battle with cancer. Bonnie will be greatly missed by her husband Derek; children Adam (Lana) and Robin (Rob); grandchildren Chase, Riley, Elliot, Fynn and Oliver; sister Sharon Fielding (Jim), as well as numerous relatives and friends. Bonnie was predeceased by her parents Douglas Watson and Eileen (McRae) Watson. Bonnie was a dedicated teacher for 46 years. She taught in three different provinces and was well loved by both colleagues and students alike. Bonnie's genuine care for her students was apparent as she often encountered former students remembering their grade one year with great fondness and detail. After retiring in 2012, Bonnie enjoyed both travel and more recently, pickleball, with her husband Derek, which garnered her new friends and acquaintances. Bonnie's greatest legacy is her family. She was a loving and devoted mother and relished her role as grandmother to her five grandsons. A Celebration of Life will be at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. As per Bonnie's request, donations can be made in her memory to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, www.cancercarefdn.mb.ca or call 204-787-4143. Derek and Family: We are all so very grief stricken to hear of Bonnie's passing. Dennis spoke to her a few months ago and by what she told him it sounded like she was going to have a long, happy retirement. God had other plans for Bonnie. Nada Bell (who is now 90 years old) remembers Bonnie well as she was growing up on Bannerman Avenue, right across the street. She was setting up props in the front yard as a small child pretending to be a teacher to the neighbourhood children. Wow, she had a true love of being an educator even at that young age, even longer than her 42 years of a teaching career. She was very loved by all. Nada thanks her for her lovely family Christmas card that she received ever year, and her poems for all her family members, she always thought of others. I know she will be sorely missed, there is no word to describe how much, but in your times of sorrow remember all the wonderful times you had with Bonnie, and in doing that she will never be forgotten. To Sharon, who has now had to say good-bye to her only sister, we wish you strength, we know that she was a wonderful, loving sister, and that she is with you. Love the Bell Family, from 756 Bannerman Avenue. - Posted by: Nada Bell, Dennis Bell and Bill Bell (written by Marleen Bell) (Bannerman Avenue neighbours and good friends) on: Jan 07, 2016

Dear Derek and family, I am so sorry to read of Bonnie's passing. Just a few months ago I saw her in a store and we had a chat. I was the music teacher in the school where Bonnie taught and was aware what a wonderful teacher she was with her children. Bonnie was highly respected by her colleagues, children and parents in the community. May the many treasured memories of past happier days help sustain you in the future. I am unable to attend the service as I have a concert rehearsal that afternoon. My deepest sympathy to everyone. - Posted by: Morna-June Morrow (A teacher colleague) on: Jan 07, 2016
