PHILIP BECKMAN Peacefully on January 6, 2016 at the E.M Crowe Memorial Hospital, Philip Beckman, aged 85 of Eriksdale MB passed away. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday January 16, 2016, at the Eriksdale Recreational Centre, with Rev. David Fielder officiating . We wish your family condolences at this time on the passing of your husband and father. Ottawa is far away but Phillip and your family were close in our thoughts when we found out about his illness. As kids, it was a treat to drop by and have tea, coffee, and a desert at your place before driving home to St. Andrews. I have fond memories of all the different things we experienced as part-time neighbors at the farm and the friendships we had with the kids Harlen, Chris, Thelma, Elma, and Wendy over the years. Enjoyed helping out and receiving help. Wish I had the chance to drive the big 4x4 tractor or the combine. I had a chance to ride in the cab with Phillip and Harlen at different times but my tractor driving experience was not enough to convince them to let me get behind the wheel. Our last visits were the smokey tea parties and bonfires in the last 2 visits to the Eriksdale farm. My parents and brothers should be at the service today. May you celebrate the man he was and the legacy he leaves behind.
