WILLIAM (BILL) JOSEPH TRONIAK August 24, 1945 - January 8, 2016 Bill passed away at home on January 8, 2016, with "his girls", wife Bobbi and daughter Dana by his side. Bill faced the long struggle with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis with remarkable strength and courage. Bill was born August 24, 1945. He and Bobbi were married in 1972 and immediately embarked on a 10-day Corvette road trip through Vancouver to Tijuana, Mexico. They continued to adventure through life together for over 43 years. They bought a lakefront property at Red Rock Lake in 1973. Bill designed and built every building and feature, with Bobbi's help. He applied his considerable ingenuity to countless projects and problems throughout his life, but perhaps most notably at the lake. The cottage was thoroughly used and enjoyed, as a getaway and for spending time with family and friends, until it was sold in 2006. Bill and Bobbi then transitioned smoothly into "the traveling years". Whether on motorcycles, by car, or on a cruise ship, alone as a couple or together with treasured family and friends, they loved visiting new places together. Bill loved to look back at photos of these trips, and never lost his original delight in the "neat" things they had seen or done. Bill is survived by wife Bobbi and daughter Dana (Andrew); grandchildren Eva, Micah and Joshua; brother Bruce (Lyla-Jo), brother and sister-in-law John (Anthea) and Carolynne (Brian); nieces and nephews Lisa (Kevin), Lindsay (Heather), Anthony, Trevor (Kathy), Lisa (Trevor), Erynn, and Tim (Bless); grand-nieces and nephew Georgia, Jamie, and Ben; as well as special cousins and their children. Bill was predeceased by parents Frank and Helen, nephews Mitchell and Shaun, and cousin Brian. A Celebration of Life will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 15, 2016 at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lung Association of Manitoba or the Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation. Special thanks to Bill's heath care team for their awesome support. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenedenmemorial.ca Glen Eden Funeral Home & Cemetery 204-338-7111

  • Going in the robins egg blue "55 Chevy to St. Johns School (Grade 12). You were generous to a fault. I regret that I never stayed in touch with you. I have been thinking of how nice it would have been to see and chat with you at least one more time. Different paths but always in sync. Rest well my friend because you left the earth a better place. - Posted by: Derek (Bongo Man) ( Going in the robins egg blue "55 Chevy to St. Johns School (Grade 12) ) on: May 15, 2020

  • We will always remember being at the cottage and hearing a quiet rumble, which would stop at the end of our driveway. Bobbi and Bill (and occasionally Suds!) would stop by for a visit as they toured the Whiteshell on their motor cycles - always a welcome sight! Bill will be missed by many. - Posted by: Rick and Lynda Palmer (Friends) on: Jan 12, 2016

  • I received the following from a friend, and have been forwarding it ever since... REMEMBRANCES We can't feel saddened over the loss of those we love without first remembering the joy of loving them. The real sadness would have been never having had them in our lives at all. Remembering is a journey the heart takes, back into a time that was, and our thoughts are the only tickets needed to ride. We who have truly loved are blessed. .......Remember everything. May your memories help you to journey through this sad time. Hope we can get together next time I'm in Winnipeg. ...Lynda - Posted by: Lynda Fahey () on: Jan 12, 2016
