Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJERRY WILLIAM SZULYM July 5, 1941 - January 11, 2016 It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Jerry on January 11, at the age of 74. Predeceased by his parents, Katherine and Larry Szulym and sister Anne Shachtay. Left to cherish his memory are his brother-in-law Kazick Shachtay; nephew Wayne Shachtay; niece and goddaughter Linda Caslake; great-nieces, Crystal (Dave), Amber (Jae), Cara, Shana, Lacee; great-nephews, Daniel and Cole; great-great-niece and nephew, Kaylie and Ford. The family wishes to thank his BC family (Wahl and Dyste) and close friends (Gary Gaudet) and neighbours for all of their love, support, and kindness you have shared with Jerry. You have truly been a blessing in his life and ours, and we are forever grateful. Jerry worked for the City of Winnipeg and Grand Motors before moving to BC to work at Canadian Bridge as a crane operator. Jerry spent his retirement years volunteering at several organizations including Meals on Wheels, Salvation Army and Campbell Valley Horse Events. He loved spending time at the cabin, fishing, hunting and flea markets. Jerry was a kind hearted, generous man who had an infectious smile and laugh, and a wonderful sense of humour. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Jerry would phone his family in Winnipeg often and loved to talk and share stories of his latest adventures. Viewing will be held in BC.
