Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVINCENZINA (ROSARIA) CONIA (nee CASTAGNA) June 13, 1930 - January 11, 2016 With profound sorrow we announce the passing of our Mamma and Nonna at the age of 85. With her family by her side she peacefully left to continue her eternal journey where she will join her beloved husband Luigi. She will forever be lovingly remembered by her children Michele (Rocchina), Raffaele (Becky), grandchildren Vincenzina and Luigi. She also leaves to mourn her brother Michele (Lina), sister Luminata (Milan), numerous in- laws, nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her devoted husband of 49 years Luigi Conia, brothers Nicola and Gaetano (Winnipeg), Carmelo (Calabria), Nazareno (Germany), and sister Rosa (Calabria). Vincenzina was born in Presinaci, Calabria Italy and came to Canada in 1964. She held various employments in her humble beginnings and then retired after nearly a quarter century employment with Westfair Foods (Superstore) in the bakery. She cherished life and loved to garden, flowers, cook as well as spend time with friends and family. Her genuine nature was loved by all. She was so generous, making her heart and home open to all. She always showered her family and friends with love and devotion. She truly relished her grandchildren and looked forward to their daily visits. They were her ultimate pride and joy. The family would like to acknowledge all the medical professionals and health care providers that touched our mother's life. A special thank you to the staff on the E5 floor of St. Boniface hospital who cared for her and us during her final stay. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, January 18 at 11:00 a.m. at the Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Avenue, with Rev. Fr. Gerry Ward presiding. Viewing will be held one hour prior at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at the Waverley Memorial Gardens. Rinfresca e Riposo all'Anima Sua. Sarai Nei Nostri Cuori per Sempre. Riposa in Pace Mamma. I am fondly thinking of Mrs. Conia during this time of isolation. I always tell my closest network of friends (sisters Elena and Angelina and friends through them) from Mona Lisa Ristorante Italiano about how Linda (retired) knows what's best for me and how it has impacted my social life, and am happy that her brother-in-law Dr. (Jeremy) Sawyer is my benefactor for life! - Posted by: Philip (Has an excellent network of support!) on: Oct 27, 2021
