Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBRENDA LOUISE de MOISSAC (nee SIMPSON) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brenda Louise de Moissac, who passed away peacefully Wednesday afternoon, January 13, 2016 at the Victoria General Hospital with her loving family by her side. Brenda is survived by her husband Andy, daughter Cara (Doug) and granddaughter Hannah Mae, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends. Brenda was born on August 11, 1954 in Winnipeg, Manitoba and grew up in the Elmwood area. At the young age of 16 she started her career at BA Robinson, where she proudly worked for over 40 years before she retired. There she made many close friends and also met her devoted husband Andy. Brenda and Andy married on June 22, 1974 at St. Steven's United Church. Together they enjoyed camping, travelling, backyard pool parties and laughing with their many cherished friends and family. Brenda was a kind, selfless woman. Many gravitated towards her in times of need, she was always there to lend an ear and offer her generous support. She adored all animals, especially her beloved dog Winston. Brenda had a quick wit and a wonderful sense of humour that she kept right until the end. Although she faced many challenges in her lifetime, she never gave up or complained. She was a fighter. One of the happiest days of Brenda's life was the day that she became a mother. Cara was her world and she could not have been more proud of her daughter. They shared a very special bond that only got stronger with the birth of her granddaughter. Hannah was the greatest joy in her life and she savoured every moment she spent with her. They shared a beautiful love. She will be deeply missed and her memory forever cherished by all that knew her. A special thanks to the staff at the Victoria Hospital for taking such good care of Brenda. A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 20 at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway, Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Lung Association. THOMSON FUNERAL HOME 669 BROADWAY, WINNIPEG, MB R3C OX4 783-7211 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsonfuneralchapel.com

I am truly, truly saddened to learn of Brenda's passing. I first met Brenda when I was 19 and what immediately struck me about her was just how warm and genuine she was to those around her. I thought of her as a mother figure, as she always had a smile on her face and something to say to put a smile on yours too. Her love, care and concern for her family was special because it was so deep, sincere and effortless. She was a fantastic woman and as pure of a soul as you could ever meet. I extend my deepest sympathies to Andy, Cara and family. My heart goes out to you. - Posted by: C.A Middleton () on: Mar 09, 2016

I am so sorry to hear of Brenda’s passing. When Cara and I were growing up, I’m pretty sure that I used to spend more time at Brenda and Andy’s than I did in my own home. Brenda was very much like a second mom to me, and she was always so patient, positive, and loving. All of Cara’s friends agreed hands down that “Cara’s mom is the coolest”. I was very lucky to have had her as a role model. My heart is breaking for Cara and Andy. I’m thinking of you in this difficult time. So much love to both of you. - Posted by: Veronica Gillis (Cara's childhood friend) on: Jan 18, 2016

So sorry to hear of Brenda's passing.... She was one of the best at BA and she was one of Burt Robinson's (B.A.) favorites. Brenda was friends with everyone, shy and quiet for her first few years (early 1970s), she soon became the popular one that everyone wanted to hang out with. Probably helping Anne Russell take a "cash sale" at the counter, she met an apprentice electrician there and Andy and Brenda lived happily ever after! We will all miss her - Ross Robinson - Posted by: RossRobinson (Employer) on: Jan 18, 2016
