DONALD JAMES ROBSON August 6, 1924 - January 13, 2016 Peacefully, on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 our beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather Donald James Robson passed away. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 56 years Ruth (nee Butterworth), his parents, William T. and Margaret F. (nee Dewar) Robson, and his four older brothers, George, Clifford, Gerald and Alan. He will be deeply missed by his three daughters and their husbands, Rena (David) Greenwood, Laurel (Mike) Curry and Kathi (Derrick) Campbell; his three granddaughters, Allison (Chris) Finch, Carolyn (Jonathan) Tchir, and Caitlin Campbell; and four grandsons, Matthew (Jacine) Greenwood, Andrew (Amy Dunn) Campbell, Nicholas (Ellen Gervino) Curry and William Curry will lovingly remember their Guppie/Grampa. He also leaves eight great-grandchildren, Lucas and Sarah Finch, Audrey, Alora, and Darien Greenwood, Owen and Jeremy Tchir and Eve Campbell. Don is also survived by brother-in-law Stan Butterworth, sister-in-law Doreen Mikulik, as well as many nieces and nephews near and far. Don was born in Winnipeg, MB and resided there for all his life. He was a proud Second World War Navy veteran and a member of the White Ensign Club. Don was employed for over 40 years with the City of Winnipeg. Ruth and Don enjoyed many active years of retirement together and had a grand time travelling all over North America and Europe. Don was an active member of John Black Memorial United Church for 54 years. He gifted all his family with a love of gardening, exploring outdoors, playing sports, birding, music, singing and especially cherishing time spent with family near and far. Don was blessed with good health most of his life. Many thanks to the kind home care workers and staff of Concordia Village II who supported his independent life. His family will miss his optimism, support, sense of humour, and positive outlook on life. He is with his beloved Ruth at last and they are 45,000 feet in the air flying to Hawaii. We will keep up the good work! Thanks Dad. Memorial service information to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to John Black Memorial United Church would be gratefully appreciated. Uncle Don was one of my favorite Uncles. He gave me my first sports coat for a formal date, taught me how to drive a std. shift car so I could pass my drivers license and with his happy personality will be fondly remembered. RIP Uncle Don. Our condolences to the girls and their families. - Posted by: Lawrence & Debbie Robson (Nephew) on: Jan 19, 2016

Growing up and biking past Mr. Robson's house, he always had time to stop and wave and ask me how my life was going. Fast forward 20+ years returning to Manitoba to visit my family, he still did the same thing. Love you, Mr. Robson! - Posted by: Tanya Williams (Neighbour) on: Jan 18, 2016
